Robert Puelz, Ph.D., Ch.F.C., CLU |

Dr. Robert Puelz is the Dexter Professor of Risk Management and
Insurance at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas and
serves as an associate of RHA, Inc. Professor Puelz is a member of
the Real Estate, Insurance and Business Law faculty. He holds a B.S.
and M.A. degrees from the University of Nebraska and a Ph.D. from
the University of Georgia. While he presently teaches courses in corporate finance, corporate risk management and principles of insurance he has taught a variety of courses over the years on the topics of life insurance, commercial property & liability insurance, employee benefits and social insurance. Research has focused on a variety of topics from information problems in insurance economics to the effect of legal rules in tort incidents to entrepreneurship. His work has been published in the Journal of Legal Studies, the Journal of Political Economy, the Journal of Risk and Insurance, and the Journal of Risk and Uncertainty. Dr. Puelz has consulted on behalf of RHA, Inc., on a wide variety of projects, including ones involving contract interpretation, uninsurability, Lloyd's of London, and valuation of wrongful death and injury. His area of expertise is not limited to the above and also includes the valuation of insurance companies, financial valuation of firms, and marketing & practices of insurance sales. While studying at The University of Georgia, Dr. Puelz earned the
James S. Kemper Foundation’s Breen Fellowship and, in 1989, was also
awarded the State Farm Foundation’s Doctoral Dissertation in
Insurance. While he was studying at Nebraska, Dr. Puelz also earned
the professional designations of Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU)
and the Chartered Financial Consultant (Ch.F.C.). |
